Build AI Segments From Your Shopify Customer Data

Shopify customers sync into bitCRM automatically and enrich with metafields, order and loyalty behavior — so you can build a segment in plain language.

Your Shopify customer data was always sitting there. Now it works for you inside bitCRM — synced automatically, enriched with real behavior, and readable by AI to build a segment in the time it takes to describe one.

Customer data that isn’t usable might as well not exist. This release turns what already syncs from Shopify into real signal — profiles enriched with order history, metafields, and loyalty status, and segments you can build in plain language instead of a filter form.

What’s changing, and what stays the same

What Change
Shopify customer data New — automatic sync (backfill + ongoing) instead of manual export/import
Shopify metafields New — loyalty tier, birthday, and other custom fields sync onto the profile
Segment filters New — order frequency, recency, spend, products purchased, loyalty points
Segment building New — AI drafts segments from a plain-language description or suggests ready-made ones
Tag management New — a Tags library to search, rename, and merge duplicate tags
Loyalty + Commerce New — loyalty points and rewards now apply to bitbybit Commerce orders too

bitCRM itself — the conversational customer record, automations, and campaigns — works the same way it did before. This release changes what’s in the record when you start, and what you can do with it once it’s there.

Shopify customers sync into bitCRM automatically

Connect Shopify and bitCRM pulls your existing customers in: an initial backfill of your current base, then ongoing sync as new orders come in. Every profile carries your real Shopify purchase history from day one, and stays current without a manual export/import round-trip every time your customer list changes.

Shopify metafields — loyalty tier, birthday, stated preferences, anything else you already track — sync onto the bitCRM customer profile alongside the standard fields. Data you’re already collecting in Shopify works immediately for segmentation and automation; you’re not re-entering it in a second system to use it.

Segment by what a customer actually does

Build a segment on order frequency, recency, total spend, specific products purchased, or loyalty points — not just static fields like location or signup date. A win-back campaign can now target buyers who’ve genuinely gone quiet, based on their actual order history, instead of everyone on a list who hasn’t been sorted.

Build segments with AI

Describe the audience you want to target using everyday language, and AI builds the rules for you — “customers who bought twice in the last 90 days but haven’t ordered since” becomes a working segment, not a filter form you have to translate it into by hand.

Building a segment manually means turning what you want to say in plain English into filter logic — order count, date ranges, tag matches — one dropdown at a time. AI removes that translation step two ways: describe an audience in plain language and let AI draft the filters, or let bitCRM read your synced customer data and suggest segments worth building from the patterns already there. Either way, you get a working segment to start from and adjust, not a blank set of filters to configure from scratch.

A Tags library, so “VIP” and “vip” aren’t two audiences

Tags built up over time without a shared view tend to fragment — “VIP,” “vip,” and “Vip” end up as three separate tags instead of one. The new Tags library gives you a single place to see every tag in your workspace with a usage count, search it, rename it, and merge near-duplicates into one. A segment built on a tag now actually reaches everyone who has it.

See How to Manage Tags in the Tags Library.

Loyalty now works across your storefront and Commerce

Points and rewards from bitLoyalty (Beta · requires Shopify) now apply to orders placed through bitbybit Commerce, not just your Shopify storefront or WhatsApp catalog. A customer who buys direct through Commerce earns and can redeem the same rewards as anyone shopping through your main storefront — and vouchers and rewards can now be set as a percentage off, not just a fixed amount, so a promo scales with the order size instead of being generous on a small cart and trivial on a large one.

What this means for your business

  • A richer customer record, without extra work. Every profile carries real Shopify order history and metafields the moment it syncs — nothing to enter by hand.
  • Target who’s actually gone quiet. Segments built on real order and loyalty behavior reach the customers a re-engagement campaign is meant for.
  • Build a segment as fast as you can describe it. AI-suggested or AI-drafted segments turn a plain-language ask into a working filter in minutes.
  • Trust your tags. A merged, deduplicated tag library means a tag-based automation or segment doesn’t quietly miss a slice of your list.

What should you do?

Already on bitCRM with Shopify connected: Sync runs automatically — check your synced customer count and try building a segment from the new behavior filters or the AI suggestions.

On bitCRM without Shopify connected, or evaluating bitCRM: Connect Shopify first — the sync and segmentation gains in this release depend on it.
