Since July 2025, Meta prices WhatsApp template messages per message by category. Marketing messages (promotions, new drops, win-backs) cost the most. Utility messages (order confirmations, shipping updates, payment reminders) are cheaper and can be free inside a 24-hour service window. Templates are written to follow WhatsApp’s rules — clear value, no prohibited content, a working opt-out for marketing — but Meta reviews and approves every template on your own account, and approval is theirs to grant. Keep the message specific and useful, avoid all-caps and excessive emoji, and give marketing recipients a way to opt out. Utility and authentication templates are approved more readily than marketing ones.
